In a move to introduce Chinese cities to the world, China International Publishing Group and Foreign Language Press is launching the book series "Cities of China." The first three titles have just been released, featuring Nanjing, Kunshan, and Wuxi. "Life on the Water's Edge" gives visitors a look into the history of Nanjing and features the hidden gems not easily found on a casual visit. Leafing through the pages, one can venture through more than 2,000 years of history, to the famous local landmarks, to the very river that inspires the travelogue. The books and upcoming titles will all be written by foreign writers. Close to one hundred foreign writers are selected for the project, which aims to introduce China from a western perspective.
